Published ranges (third-party estimates, not listings)
One guide publishes these typical ranges: shared offshore trips at about $200–300 per person, private full-day offshore charters at about $1,200–1,800 per boat, half-day inshore pangas at about $150–250, and tarpon guide days at about $250–350[6]. These are that site's estimates; we could not match them to specific current listings.
What changes the price
- Boat type. A Salvadoran panga (open or covered skiff) usually costs less than an enclosed sportfisher with a flybridge.
- Distance. The bite is often along the drop-off; Marlin described fishing about 50 miles offshore[7]. Longer runs mean more fuel.
- Inclusions. Ask about tackle, bait, drinks, lunch, hotel transfers and any port fees.
- Tips. One guide says 15–20% for the crew is customary for good service[6]. We list it separately in the estimator.
